I’m a member at another Victorian RSL – will my loyalty membership card be accepted at the Mildura RSL?
Yes. All Victorian members cards will work here.
I’m from NSW/SA/Qld – will my RSL card work?
No – only Victorian RSL cards will work.
Why do I have to be a registed visitor at the Mildura RSL?
Victorian Liquor Licensing regulations require any person entering a club who is not a member must be registered as a visitor upon entry.
Can I register as a visitor if I live within a 10km radius?
No. All residents must become members to enter. An exemption is if you are registered as a visitor in the company of a member. Although under that rule the number of visits are restricted.
Do I have to be an ex service person to be a member or a visitor?
No, not at all, everyone is welcome.
Why should I become a member?
You are supporting a local charitable organisation that supports Veterans and their families.
When do I need to renew my membership?
By the 31st of January each year.
What are RSL Rewards points and can I use the rewards points for?
For every dollar you spend, you earn 2 rewards points. You can put them towards paying for your meals and drinks or you can shop at our online shop – rslrewards.com.au. You can also use your points to pay for your membership.
Are you open on Christmas Day and Good Friday?
No – we like to spend Christmas Day and Good Friday with our families too.
What is the dress code?
Neat casual – no singlets or headwear unless for religious or medical reasons and no bare midriffs.
Why do I need to remove my hat?
It’s a mark of respect to our fallen diggers and service members
Why is the Ode played at 6.00pm?
At 6.00pm every evening, club patrons and staff observe a minute’s silence while a recording of the Ode of Remembrance is broadcast. This Ode commemorates the Australian servicemen and women who have tragically given their lives while serving their country.
What does the Ode mean?
The Ode comes from For the Fallen, a poem by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon which was published in London in the Winnowing Fan; Poems of the Great War in 1914.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
Does Mildura RSL provide information for veterans and defence force personnel?
Yes, we support and welcome all Australian Defence Force members, war widows and veterans’ children and police force members who have served in United Nations operations.
Are children welcome at the Mildura RSL?
Yes, children are welcome to visit the Clubs Bistro with a parent or guardian. Children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times whilst in the Mildura RSL. Children are not permitted to enter the gaming room. Children are permitted to enter other areas of the club with management authorisation ie to attend wakes.
